FAQs

When is the best time to schedule my newborn session?

The best time to schedule your session is before your little one is born. This way you can rest assured that your newborn photo shoot will occur within the first 2 to 3 weeks after birth, the very best time to get the sweetest photographs! My weekly calendar fills up quickly and I only take on a limited amount of newborns per week. Let’s make sure that we have your session on the calendar before the birth so that you don’t have to think about it once the baby is born.

How do I book without knowing my session date?

After booking, your due date will be saved on my diary so that we can be sure that you are on my calendar for that month. Once your baby is born and you are ready to go home, all you have to do is contact me and from there we’ll schedule a definitive session date and time within the 2 - 3 weeks of your baby’s arrival. Once we schedule the actual date for the session I’ll send you a detailed email with all the information you need to know, including what you can expect from your session, how to prep yourself and your baby and other helpful insights and tips.

How soon should I have my newborn session after giving birth?

The sooner the better! Newborns tend to stay sound asleep a few days after birth and because of this I will be able to gently move your little one into sweet poses. After a couple of weeks, this is not as easy to do. After the 14 – 21 day mark babies begin to stretch and the poses won’t be as easy to accomplish.

What are the other sessions that you offer?

Apart from Newborn sessions, I also offer :
Maternity sessions that are preferably done between the 30th and 34th week of pregnancy.
Sitter Sessions are done between 6 to 9 months old, which is perfect as babies can sit on their own but cannot crawl yet.
Cake Smash Session for your child's first birthday

Can I incorporate sibling and parents photos with my baby?

Absolutely! Photographing your little one surrounded by family is an incredible experience for everyone involved. To keep the environment as calm as possible for the baby, it is recommended that only immediate family members are present to session. Mini sessions do not include family photos

What should we wear for the family pictures?

I want you to feel comfortable so I suggest wearing clothes that you can move freely in. I also recommend soft toned, solid colours, avoiding loud prints and patterns so that we can keep the focus on the baby. If you would like a more traditional look, a white or muted coloured shirt / blouse would be the best choice. There is no need to bring any outfits for your newborn, as the baby will be swaddled in one of my wraps.

How long will my newborn photography session take?

Your session will take between 2 to 3 hours, pausing to allow times for feeding and changing. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable and the pace of our session will be determined by the baby. Newborn Sessions are best scheduled during mornings, as babies are usually calmer and more settled

My baby is already born, am I too late to schedule a Newborn Session?

If I have an opening in my calendar, I am happy to accommodate. Most often, however, I am booked out weeks in advance. Also, I really love to take newborn pictures 7-21 days after birth. After that, some of the most adorable poses aren’t as easy to achieve.

What is the turn around on my images?

You will receive your unedited images up to 1 week from your session date. After that I would need you to send me your selection within 2 weeks for editing. Final images and products will be ready for collection 4-7 weeks after sending me your selection.

Where do newborn sessions take place?

Your session will take place in my studio located in Triq San Pawl, Rabat (Malta). Just bring yourself, your little bundle of joy and the nappy bag that you’ll usually carry with you when you go out with the baby.

Do I need to bring any props with me to the newborn photography session?

No, I have a large selection of blankets, backgrounds and photography props that you will be able to choose from. However, if there is a particular hat, bonnet, blanket or soft toy that you want your baby to be photographed with, then of course, please feel free to bring it along and we will incorporate it into some of the images
